About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Yolo Children's Fund, Inc. is to enhance the quality of a disadvantaged child's life by providing funds for a special project, gift, need or opportunity that would otherwise go unmet.

History of Yolo Children's Fund

Originally established with a $10,000 award to Judge Donna M. Petre from the Foundation for the Improvement of Justice in Atlanta, GA, the fund has since evolved into a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization now known as the Yolo Children's Fund, Inc.

Guided by a board of directors of community members and child welfare specialists, the volunteer board operates without overhead expenses.

Administration of the Fund

In cases involving children who are at risk, the court appoints an attorney and/or a CASA Advocate to represent the best interest of the child.
  • Attorneys and CASAs are in a position to know of unmet needs of the children they represent
  • Attorneys and CASAs are encouraged to bring requests for funds to meet those needs.
